Squaliucm High School senior Patrick Gibson won the 14th Annual Nike BorderClash boys race with a time of 13 minutes, 44 seconds, setting a new BorderClash record Sunday, Nov. 18, on Nike's Campus in Beaverton, Ore.
Nike BorderClash is a cross country showdown to determine the best running state in the Pacific Northwest. The annual event features elite high school runners from Oregon and Washington in a dual meet format.
An estimated crowd of nearly 5,000 gathered on the Nike Campus and watched Team Washington win the annual competition. Glacier Peak High School senior Amy-Eloise Neale won the girls race with a BorderClash girls record of 15:33.
Whatcom County's Conner Johnsen (10th place), Dillon Quintana (23rd), Connor JungKuntz (35th), Joseph Charbonneau (41st), Tom Bradley (60th) and Emily Pittis (35th in girls' race) also competed.
The series now stands at 12-2 in favor of Washington.
