The 2012 election is over but I am still hearing and seeing an America that is not one, not united.

We are a relatively young nation country and will never fit in a mold that is just simply not our way. Why would we want to fit the world's notions of whom and what Americans are? We write our history every day! The United States of America is a great nation. Our nation is great because we are so diverse and we choose to be that way.

We are a nation with challenges just like any other country in the world. As Americans we must ask ourselves what can I do for my neighborhood, my county, my state, my country. We as Americans must leave the 2012 elections behind us and move forward.

We are a nation that has and can do great and wondrous things. We work together regardless of ideology, skin color, religion, etc. We must be more and that can only be achieved by coming together as Americans. We must look past differences and see what we all can bring to the table to start repairing the fracture in this nation.

To begin to heal as a nation we must let go of past hurts and blame. That was yesterday, it is not today. We must not look back because we are not going that way.

I love America for all that it is, all that it has been, and all that America has yet to become.
