BELLINGHAM - The Stamp and Coin Place has expanded its downtown space, opening S&C Etc., an antiques and collectibles area.

S&C Etc. features retro and vintage collectibles, jewelry, art, old magazines and other curiosities, according to business spokeswoman Jane Benson. It also will house the business' extensive stock of stamps and postcards for collectors.

The new space has its own entrance at 105. E. Holly St., and can be reached from the Stamp and Coin Place at 101 E. Holly. Hours for the new space are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Stamp and Coin Place has been in business for more than 40 years and specializes in bullion trading along with stamps, coins, currency and other collectibles. Current owner Tim Rathjen bought the business in 2003; it had just two employees at the time, according to a company press release. In 2011, he moved it from the Parkade to Holly Street. It now has eight full-time and eight part-time employees.
