Unhappy with candidate response

Published: November 13, 2012

It is with great irritation that I read the comments made by Natalie McLendon on her loss to Jason Overstreet.

It seems that she blames voters for supporting the better candidate.

I attended two in-person debates and listened to an on air debate. I believe Jason Overstreet was the clear winner in all of them. He is intelligent, well spoken, measured and consistent. Whether I agree with him on all of the issues (which I don't) I find him to be approachable and thoughtful in how he responds to concerns. And he can appreciate and respect differences in opinion, which I believe Natalie does not.

I appreciated Overstreet's sponsorship of a Gold and Silver Legal Tender Act. Perhaps Natalie should spend the next two years studying monetary policy and the constitution before she even contemplates a career in politics.

It seems to me that Natalie is not really interested in solving problems, only criticizing her opponent. As an open-minded swing voter I was never impressed with McClendon but really, nobody likes a sore loser.
