Lynden's Class 2A state football quarterfinal showdown with Sumner has been scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner.
The Lions (10-1) will be attempting to make it to the state semifinals for the sixth time in seven years, while the Spartans (9-2) seek their first trip to the semifinals since 1977.
Mount Baker and Lummi are also still alive in the state playoffs, and both teams will be on the road this week, but game times have not been released. The Mountaineers (9-1) will play La Center (11-0) in the 1A quarterfinals, while the Blackhawks (9-2) will play Taholah (6-3) in the first round of the 1B state playoffs.
