Semiahmoo pro Coston to play in another golf major

Semiahmoo golf pro Jeff Coston qualified for the 2013 Senior PGA Championship after a strong finish in a tournament last month.

Coston placed eighth at the Senior Processional National Championship in mid October in Virginia. The Senior PGA Championship, which will be in St. Louis in May of 2013, will be Coston's 16th major golf tournament he has played in.

Coston also teamed with former Western Washington University standout Luke Bennett and tied for second at the Olympic Peninsula Pro Pro as the duo shot two rounds of 64 (8 under each day).

MICHELIN PROGRAM DONATES TO COUNTY SOCCER

The Michelin Soccer Program and Meridian Auto & Tire LLC donated more than $1,400 in funds and equipment to Whatcom County Youth Soccer Association.

The funds help provide scholarships, uniforms and other soccer essentials for participating leagues.
