I believe the primary issue of support for the Gateway Pacific Terminal is humanitarian. Webster's Dictionary notes the definition of humanitarian as "a person promoting human welfare and social reform."

The purpose of union organizations could be put into this definition. The endorsement of many AFL-CIO unions supporting the terminal indicates GPT shares their humanitarian goals. Government leaders could also be categorized as humanitarian. Again, many prominent government officials support the GPT and share their humanitarian goals.

SSA Marine, the organization backing GPT, has local roots and many years of experience in shipping terminal experience and growth. As you know, we live and, hopefully, thrive in a global economy. I am happy to support the humanitarian efforts of Gateway Pacific Terminal and SSA Marine.
