Ferndale's Connor Jungkuntz finished off an impressive high school cross country career and an amazing day for an unforgettable group of senior boys' runners from Whatcom County by placing eighth in the Class 3A State Championships on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Sun Willows Golf and Country Club in Pasco.
Jungkuntz's time of 15 minutes, 48.2 seconds was only 30 seconds off race winner Joe Hardy of Seattle Prep (15:18.4).
Twin brother Logan Jungkuntz finished 40th in 16:30.4, while fellow Golden Eagle senior Joshua DeVenere was 73rd in 17:00.5.
