I am writing to express my support for Brad Stone as the Public Utility District's next commissioner. As a person and as a professional, Brad combines an innate practicality and tremendous personal integrity with creativity about what our public utilities can and should do. Having spent more than 15 years in the construction business, Brad Stone is well aware of what private enterprise brings to the county and the constraints that that poor utility planning can pose. He is eager to streamline our water policy and make the work of the public utility district more transparent and accessible to citizens. Furthermore, I support Brad Stone because he is forward thinking. Brad understands that traditional power sources are and will continue to be important to the county. But he also recognizes that these resources are limited - for that reason, he supports sensible conservation efforts and is eager to explore the potential for alternate power sources suited to our comm unities, our geography and our climate. I can't imagine a better person to serve the public utility district in this role.
