Is your ballot in the mail?

The Whatcom County auditor's web site reported Friday noon that 50,000 ballots were already in hand. The Secretary of State's office says there are about 125,000 active registered voters in Whatcom County. Let's get busy.

Remember, if you're mailing your ballot, it must be postmarked Nov. 6 to be counted.

You have until 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6 to drop your ballot at these locations:

Blaine Library, 610 3rd St.;

Deming Library, 5044 Mount Baker Highway;

Everson WECU, 106 E. Main St.;

Ferndale City Hall, 2095 Main St.;

Lynden Library, 216 4th St.;

Meridian Middle School, 861 Ten Mile Road;

Whatcom County Courthouse South Parking Lot, 201 Grand Ave.

If you're still deciding who to vote for, our Voter Guide is online at BellinghamHerald.com.

And Sunday, Nov. 4, you have a last chance to view League of Women Voters candidate forums on BTV-10. Seeing the candidates respond to questions is a great way to inform your vote. Show times are:

9 a.m. - Washington State Aug. 29 gubernatorial debate with Rob McKenna and Jay Inslee;

1 p.m. - Oct. 11 Congressional candidates;

2:30 p.m. Sept. 29 ballot issues; and

5 p.m. - Oct. 4 state legislative candidates for the 40th and 42nd districts.

No matter whom you vote for, no matter who wins, voting is our reaffirmation of the principles that make America great. Take the opportunity so many have given so much to win - vote.
