Supports Garrett for Superior Court

Published: November 1, 2012

I am writing to encourage voters to support Deborra Garrett for Superior Court judge. Deborra has long been held in high regard throughout our county's legal community for her broad legal experience including business, family, employment, child welfare, estate, criminal and real estate matters. She has won cases before judges at all levels up to the Washington and U.S. Supreme courts. She has a strong track record of independent advocacy with no ties to county or city government insiders. She is committed to justice for all members of our community as demonstrated by her volunteer service as a volunteer for the Women Care Shelter, the Pickford Film Center, Meridian High School and Law Advocates.

Deborra works to improve our legal system. She is the president of the Whatcom County Bar Association. For the Washington State Bar Association she hears attorney discipline cases. An arbitrator for Superior Court since 1987, Deborra has experience listening to people in conflict and resolving disputes with justice accepted by both sides. She has many other achievements in legal and community service. If elected she will be an unbiased, insightful and thoughtful judge who applies the law with integrity. She is the person for the job, and she would be the first women to serve on the Whatcom County Superior Court. For all these reasons I hope you will join me in voting for Deborra Garrett.
