WCC women's soccer earns ninth shutout of season

The Whatcom Community College women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Skagit Valley College on Saturday, Oct. 27, at home.

Kaya Jones had an unassisted goal in the 47th minute and Annie Borg scored off an assist by Kate Bachenberg on a corner kick in the 77th minute.

WCC coach Claire Morgan said her team started feeling good after putting one in the net just after halftime.

"That really kind of freed them up to play with confidence in the second half," Morgan said in a phone interview.

Allie Holterman had seven saves in goal for WCC (8-1-4 10-1-4), which had its ninth shutout of the season.
