Deborra knows the Whatcom County community well, having lived here, raised her family and practiced law in Bellingham and volunteered for a wide variety of causes for over 35 years.

The Washington State Bar Association has honored Deborra with a "Local Hero" award for her efforts in challenging an FBI subpoena regarding the Whatcom County Library system.
