Port of Bellingham director candidates speak Monday

BELLINGHAM - The public is invited to meet the three finalists for the Port of Bellingham's executive director position during a community reception at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Bellingham Cruise Terminal.

"All three of these candidates would bring strong skills and proven experience to the Port of Bellingham," Commission President Scott Walker said in a press release. "The commissioners have individually interviewed each of them and we believe these candidates have the ability to lead port staff and port operations in a manner that will result in strong performance for our community."

The finalists will give a brief presentation during the meeting. They are:

- Jonathan Daniels, executive director at Port of Oswego, New York.

- William Panos, public works and port director for the city of West Sacramento, Calif.

- Les Reardanz, chief administrative officer for the Port of Everett and former Bellingham assistant city attorney.
