I would like to add a few comments to the Oct. 10 article headlined "Bellingham airport neighbors get few answers to noise complaints." These "airport neighbors" who spoke passionately about how increased jet traffic greatly impacts their homes and families live in Fairhaven, Cornwall Park neighborhood, Birchwood neighborhood, Columbia neighborhood, Lake Padden neighborhood, in Ferndale, along Northwest Road north of the Smith Road and in the rural agricultural lands seven miles north of the airport. Apparently "Bellingham airport neighbors" cover a major swath of our community. According to the port's projections, commercial jet flights will definitely be increasing here. I encourage everyone who enjoys Whatcom County for its beauty, healthy lifestyle, outdoor recreation, waterfront and nice neighborhoods to become informed, join the discussion and let the port know how more aircraft roaring over head will affect your neighborhood.
