There is no doubt in my mind that homosexuals/lesbians have been ridiculed for generations. I remember well my high school/college days when we peddled jokes, developing a disgusting array of imitations designed to ostracize and shame them. Common sense tells me we were thoughtlessly cruel to these members of our human family. The backlash was predictable.

Common sense also tells me that only a man can be a father and only a woman can be a mother. Social science and history tell us that children need a mom and dad, not two daddies or mommies. To me, marriage by definition excludes "same-sex marriage," an obvious oxymoron.
