'Hands Across Ferndale' event Oct. 27 to help homeless families

FERNDALE - People can hold hands at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, to help raise money for housing for homeless families.

Called "Hands Across Ferndale," the event will benefit Interfaith Coalition of Whatcom County's "Our House" campaign.

Participants should arrive at 1:30 p.m. to check in at four stations along the two-mile route. Donations of $10 or more can be made at the stations, which will be at:

- United Church of Ferndale, 2034 Washington St.

- Samuel's Furniture, 1904 Main St. near the Nooksack River bridge.

- True Value hardware, 2000 Main St. near First Avenue.

- Ferndale Community Resource Center, 5694 Second Ave.
