Published: October 23, 2012

The Nooksack Valley volleyball team won 25-15, 25-20, 25-22 at Sedro-Woolley in a Northwest Conference match on Monday, Oct. 22.

"We played well and consistent," Nooksack Valley coach Jennifer Simmons said in a phone interview. "It wasn't necessarily our best match but we took care of business. Sedro-Woolley came out intense, but we were able to take care of things."

Nooksack Valley was led by McKenzie Impero with 10 kills, Lindsay Hayes with four kills and McKinna Larson with 18 assists and seven aces.

"McKinna was our best player of the match," Simmons said. "She spread the ball around well, served well and played good defense."

The Pioneers (7-6, 6-5 NWC) will play at home against Lynden Christian on Wednesday, Oct. 24, to finish the regular season and determine the first and second seeds for 1A postseason play.
