Lauren Gibb scored two goals as the Squalicum girls' soccer team defeated Anacortes 3-0 in a Northwest Conference match on Monday, Oct. 22, in Bellingham.
"It was a fun night and we got to mix things up," Squalicum coach David Kish said in a phone interview. "We got to get players in different positions and controlled the ball most of the game and passed really well, even with people out of position the girls did a nice job moving the ball."
Kim Hazlett scored first in the 26th minute for the Storm.
"All of the seniors stood out tonight," Kish said. "They have been in the program for the past four years and worked really hard. I think taking the way we possess the ball tonight will be really key (in the playoffs) and moving it as quickly as possible. We need to play our game and play with intensity."
Squalicum finished the season 14-1-1, 11-1-0 NWC and will host Lake Washington in the first round of the district tournament on Saturday, Oct. 27.
