As an 18 year old, I am excited about the privilege I have to vote for the first time in this upcoming election. I feel that my fresh exposure to the political scene gives me a unique perspective on this election. There are a variety of opinions on candidates, but I believe there is one race where the choice is very clear.
Jason Overstreet, running for re-election as Washington State Representative for the 42nd district, has proven himself to be the man for the job. I have been continually impressed by his knowledge on the matters of our state, his character and principled leadership, and his sincere desire to serve the people of the State of Washington. He understands that we need to be responsible with our resources, and that if we continue on our current path of fiscal irresponsibility, my generation will inherit a bleak future.
I encourage voters in the 42nd district to take the time to visit his website (VoteOverstreet.com) and to research his voting record. If you do, I believe you will come to agree with me that he is up-front about where he stands on issues, and that his record proves he has not wavered from those principles. Jason Overstreet is not a "politician," but is instead the kind of public servant we need to represent our district in Olympia.
