The Lynden Christian volleyball team bounced back from a first-set loss to beat Friday Harbor 22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-18 in a non-conference match Saturday, Oct. 20, at Lynden Christian.
Coach Kim Grycel said the win sets up a showdown against Nooksack Valley Wednesday, Oct. 24, for the Northwest Conference's No. 1 seed in the Class 1A District Tournament.
Senior hitter Cassie Mulder led LC with a career-high 19 kills and added 11 digs.
"She really sparked the turnaround and made some big hits for us," Grycel said of Mulder in a phone interview. "We had 15 unforced errors in the first set, so we were able to clean that up and reduce our errors the last three (sets) we played."
Morgan Van Kooten had eight kills and blocked a team-best six kill attempts. Lyncs' setter Madison Weg tied her career high with 41 assists, had 10 digs and four kills.
LC plays Sehome next at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Sehome High School.
