Nooksack Valley picks up road win against Friday Harbor

FRIDAY HARBOR - The Nooksack Valley football team traveled to Friday Harbor and came back with a 28-14 Northwest Conference 1A victory Friday, Oct. 19.

The win improved the Pioneers to 5-3, 2-2 NWC while Friday Harbor dropped to 4-4, 0-4 NWC.

"I was really pleased with our mixture," Nooksack Valley coach Robb Myhre said in a phone interview. "I thought we came and played physical again."

Trey Handy started the scoring for the Pioneers with a 12-yard run for a touchdown in the first quarter. Curtis Handy caught a 24-yard pass for a score from Tanner Myhre in the second quarter. Bret Rediger scored on a 60-yard pass in the third quarter and Tanner Myhre ran for a long score in the fourth quarter for Nooksack Valley.

Nooksack Valley next hosts Blaine Friday, Oct. 26.
