BELLINGHAM - City officials and RE Sources for Sustainable Communities will give a walking tour showing how stormwater is handled after improvements on Monroe Street.
The free tour will provide a peek behind the scenes at stormwater treatment vaults, infiltration trenches and other features of the Monroe Street project.
The tour starts at noon Thursday, Oct. 25, at the "RE Patch," a community garden at the northwest corner of the RE Store parking lot. The garden is at Monroe and Kulshan streets. The RE Store is at 2309 Meridian St.
Stormwater management is getting a lot of attention from communities as the state increases regulation of polluted runoff.
