The Lynden volleyball team won at Ferndale 25-18, 18-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-5 in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, Oct. 18.
"We knew tonight was going to be close and it came down to the fifth game," Ferndale coach Patti Hoelzle said in a phone interview. "Lynden did a really good job executing in that fifth game and we couldn't answer back. Kudos to them for executing and we just couldn't respond."
The Golden Eagles were led by Grace Bills with 13 kills and Hannah Pitsch and Brooke Benson who combined for 17 kills.
"Overall the girls played with intensity and focus," Hoelzle said. "Taylor Reid had a really strong game too and set up our offense."
Lynden is now 8-4, 7-3 NWC and will host Meridian on Monday, Oct. 22, while Ferndale (5-7, 4-6 NWC) will travel to Anacortes.
