Bellingham girls' soccer defeats Nooksack 6-0

The Bellingham girls' soccer team defeated Nooksack Valley 6-0 in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, Oct. 18, in Nooksack.

"It was a miserable night outside," Bellingham coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview. "But both teams had a pretty good time with it. We were excited to come out with a win and push on to our final game against Ferndale on Monday."

Bellingham scored its first goal in the 13th minute from Kate Troutman. Cashel Vincent scored their second goal in the 35th minute and Brooke Baker added another 4 minutes later.

Mia Hodges and Larkyn Nelson also scored for the Red Raiders, while Troutman added another in the second half.

Morgan Perry had 13 saves for the Pioneers in the effort.

Bellingham improved to 9-5-1, 9-2-0 NWC and will play Ferndale on Monday, Oct. 22, while Nooksack Valley fell to 0-13-3, 0-9-3 NWC.

Both teams qualified for the postseason.
