The Bellingham girls' swim team won every event except one in its 129-41 win over Burlington-Edison on Thursday, Oct. 18, in Bellingham.
"It was like 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure,' it was an excellent adventure," Bellingham coach Jeff Anderson said in a phone interview. "We had 39 best times and three girls get automatice district qualifying times."
Kaia Johnson won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2 minutes, 19.87 seconds. Madison Smith took second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:49.46 and Emma Brice took second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:27.9 to both qualify for districts.
"It was just a very good day overall," Anderson said. "We celebrated senior day and then we won every event except the 100 butterfly."
Bellingham improved to 6-2, 6-2 NWC and will play at districts on Friday, Nov. 2, in Anacortes.
