The Lynden girls' swim team won its fourth meet in a row defeating Ferndale 122-49 in a Northwest Conference meet on Thursday, Oct. 18, in Lynden.
"The girls did what they needed to do and got the job done getting the win," Lynden coach Linda Bode said in a phone interview. "We mixed things up a bit. We weren't pushed so a majority of the girls let up, but back to the grind tomorrow. We are ready to work hard going into league and districts."
Annie Uribe won the 200 freestyle for Lynden with a time of 2 minutes 34.66 seconds. She also was part of the 200 freestyle relay team that won in a time of 2:07.78 with Jadyn Elias, Ciarra Flint and Hannah Hollander.
"Annie stood out winning three events and getting a second," Bode said. "The second place finish in the 100 freestyle was her best time in that event. She's new and young but doing extremely well."
Annalee Holmdahl won the 500 freestyle for Ferndale with a time of 6:42.42.
Lynden is now 4-4, 4-3 NWC and Ferndale dropped to 1-6, 1-6 NWC. Both teams will compete in districts Friday, Nov. 2, in Anacortes.
Lynden also won their meet over Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 118-52 and won every event except the 100 breaststroke.
