The Sehome girls' swim team won 11 out of 12 events and wrapped up its dual meet schedule with 134-51 Northwest Conference win against Anacortes Thursday, Oct, 18. at Fidalgo Pool in Anacortes.
Though Sehome (8-0, 7-0 NWC) clinched a Northwest Conference title on Tuesday with its win against Squalicum, the Mariners officially became NWC champions with the win against Anacortes.
"I like the way we spread the events out," Sehome coach Don Helling said in a phone interview. "We had a different winner in each individual event. This final dual meet made us undefeated overall."
Megan Mundell, Gwendolyn Roley, Molly McGuire, Hannah Holmgren, Sophia Carbone, Ellie Poehlman, Shirley Lam and Leah Day all won events. Roley posted a state-qualifying time in the 200 individual medley with a swim of 2 minutes, 20.70 seconds. The IM is Roley's fourth state-qualifying mark this season.
