Bomber leaves Cougars, expected to head to Eastern Washington

Published: October 19, 2012

Former Lynden High School standout receiver Blair Bomber announced this week that he plans to leave Washington State University and reportedly is expected to transfer and play football at Eastern Washington.

The 5-foot-8, 166-pound redshirt sophomore missed all of the 2011 season with a knee injury and has not seen any game action this year. Bomber injured the knee in spring practice, and it required surgery after the academic year.

"We wish him the very best, and I know he really likes football, but he also wants to go somewhere he can get on the field and play, so we wish him the best," Washington State coach Mike Leech told the Spokane Spokesman-Review.

Bomber earned Scout Team Offensive Player of the Week honors in 2010 for the week leading up to a game against California on Nov. 6.
