McClement finished second on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Emerald City Open at Lower Woodland Park in 25 minutes, 53.3 seconds, knocking more than a minute and a half of his previous best at the event and clinching a spot for the travel squad to the Western Athletic Conference Championships, which will be held Oct. 27 at Ruston, La.
McClement is a two-team second-team All-Great West Conference performer and owns a 3.306 grade-point average as biochemistry major. He is a two-team Academic All-Great West honoree in cross country and has been honored three times in track and field.
This is the second time McClement has earned the weekly award, which is selected by the athletics department based on performances both in competition and in the classroom.
