The Lynden Christian volleyball team defeated Meridian 25-8, 25-14, 25-15 at home in a Northwest Conference match on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
"It went really well. We came out that first game and really dominated and were able to maintain that all the way through," Lynden Christian coach Kim Grycel said in a phone interview. "We will probably see them again at districts so it was nice to get a strong win over them."
The Lyncs were led by Kayla Tiemersma with eight kills, Karley De Jager with six aces and three kills and Cassie Mulder with three aces, seven kills and two blocks.
"We served really well," Grycel said. "We were also able to stop Sydney Wasilewski well so I was proud of our defensive effort."
Lynden Christian is now 5-5, 5-4 NWC and will host Squalicum on Thursday, Oct. 18, while Meridian (2-9, 1-8 NWC) will host Sehome.
