Comicon, Northwest Washington's annual comic book convention, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 .m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Ferndale Events Center, 5715 Barrett Road.

Guests include Randy Emberlin, Stefano Guadiano, James Lloyd, Gary Martin, Nina Matsumoto and Ron Randall, as well as local artists and writers. The event offers one of the area's largest selection of comics, from the golden age to modern, plus pulps, graphic novels, toys, original art and prints. There's also a costume contest.
