LYNDEN - Sheriff Bill Elfo and other prominent figures in local law enforcement will host a public presentation about gangs in Whatcom County on Thursday, Oct. 18.

County Prosecutor Dave McEachran, Elfo and police from Everson and Lynden will talk about "the nature and extent of gang problems in Whatcom County as well as law enforcement strategies to address this menace," according to the sheriff's office.

The discussion will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Lynden Community Center, 401 Grover St.
