One man is facing charges of second-degree assault involving a stabbing at a Sumas bar early Sunday, Oct. 14.
Jorge Antonio Garcia-Nunez, age unknown, was arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred during a fight at a bar in the 400 block of Cherry Street, said Sumas Police Chief Chris Haugen.
"It was quite chaotic at the scene," Haugen said.
Firefighters took the stabbing victim by ambulance to St. Joseph hospital, where he was treated and released. Other victims were examined at the scene, Haugen said, but he wasn't sure if they required hospitalization.
Haugen said witness statements led officers to Garcia-Nunez's house, where he was arrested without incident early Sunday.
