Ashley Quesada and Liz Berry recorded a goal and an assist to lead Blaine to a 2-0 non-conference win against Friday Harbor on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Friday Harbor.
The win gave Blaine (4-7-3, 2-5-3 NWC) its second straight victory.
"I think everybody stepped up as a team," Blaine coach Dan Steelquist said in a phone interview. "I was really pleased that the things we've been working on have come together."
Quesada scored off an assist from Berry in the 26th minute, and Quesada returned the favor in the 50th minute. Goalies Anna Hewitt and Shirin Roth-Lerner combined for five saves and a shut out.
The Borderites play Lynden next at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Bender Field in Lynden.
