The Lynden boys' cross country team ran to an eight-place finish and the girls took sixth in rainy and windy weather at the Hoquim Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13, in Hoquim.
Robbie Swineford finished 11th overall and led the boys with his 17 minute, 38 second run. Grace Sauter placed sixth, running a personal-best time for the girls with a 20:38.
"(Swineford) went out really strong and held on," Lynden cross country coach Bob Carson said in a phone interview. "It was a good race on his part. Grace finished sixth and PR'd by quite a bit."
Next for the Lions in the Northwest Conference Championships at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Civic Stadium.
