Doug and Marian Van Lant of Lynden will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a no-gift open house hosted by their children from 2:30-5:00pm on Sunday, Oct. 21, at Sonlight CRC, 8800 Bender Rd. in Lynden. There will be a short program starting at 3:30. Doug and Marian have 4 children: Jay (Fran) Van Lant, Terry (Dianne) Van Lant, Cheryl (Jim Lankhaar), all of Lynden, and Glen Van Lant of Florida. Doug and Marian delight in spending time with their 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Doug is a retired dairy farmer and Marian is retired from Alsum and Bode Furniture after 30 years. They attribute their long and successful marriage to their faith in the Lord and their loving family.
