BELLINGHAM - Adult Day Health Center will have an open house Wednesday, Oct. 17, to celebrate its 35-year anniversary.

The free event is open to the public and is 3:30 to 5 p.m. at 809 E. Chestnut St.

Adult Day Health Center is one of the oldest such centers in the nation and is a program of PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.

It provides nursing, therapeutic exercise and activities for older adults and people with disabilities or long-term illness, and enables them to remain in their homes.

The center also helps caregivers including through support groups, staff consultation and education.
