When I signed up for Medicare last year, I also got a Medicare advantage plan from United Healthcare called AARP Secure Horizons, which has been working well.

I got a notice yesterday from United Healthcare informing me the program will be summarily cancelled at the end of this year and told me how sorry they are to have to discontinue my policy.

Then also yesterday, I saw a full page ad in the Seattle paper soliciting new members for this exact same program and upon further research, found that United Healthcare continues to offer the program in other counties.

I have only one question ... what are we, chopped liver?
