The Lynden volleyball team won 25-21, 26-24, 22-25, 18-25, 15-11 at Lynden Christian in a Northwest Conference game on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
"Any time you go to LC it's a battle, especially when you're Lynden," Lynden coach Angie Dallas said in a phone interview. "They have improved a lot since the beginning of the year."
Lynden was led by Kelsey Bouwman with 23 digs, Stephanie Somers with four aces and Taylor VanDalen with 37 assists. Kat Webb and Maddi Hommes each had 13 kills for the Lions.
LC coach Kim Grycel said it was a good match for her Lyncs, who lost to Lynden in three sets Sept. 11.
"It was an extremely close match," Grycel said in a phone interview. "It was a great match with our cross-town rival."
Cassie Mulder had 15 kills, eight digs and two aces for LC, Morgan Van Kooten added nine kills and eight blocks, Karley De Jager added 10 kills and three aces and Madison Weg had 40 assists and nine digs.
