Squalicum wins every event in swim meet against Ferndale

The Squalicum girls' swim team won every event in a 130-37 Northwest Conference win over visiting Ferndale on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Arne Hanna Aquatic Center.

Kathryn Monahan and Josephine Hegeberg each won two events for the Storm. Monahan won the 200 individual medley in 2 minutes, 34.97 seconds and took first in the 100 freestyle (1:03.3). Hegeberg placed first in the 200 freestyle in 2:07.24 and finished first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.74.

Also winning individual events for Squalicum were Maddie Dohm in the 50 freestyle (27.08), Tori Franzen in diving (190.3), Kaitlyn Doyal in the 100 butterfly (1:11.42), Abby Vonfeldt in the 500 freestyle (6:05.61) and Olivia Nielsen in the 100 backstroke (1:07.16).

Squalicum swept the three relays.

"We thought they did very well today," Storm assistant coach Randy Delsner said in a phone interview.
