Anacortes scored the first goal but Bellingham answered with four goals for a 4-1 Northwest Conference victory Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Anacortes in girls' soccer action.

Kate Troutman had two goals and an assist, Larkyn Nelson had a goal and an assist, Mary Dyrland added a goal and Cashel Vincent and Haley Nicholes chipped in with an assist each as the Red Raiders improved to 7-5-1 overall and 7-2-0 in the NWC.

Bellingham coach Mark Wright said his team has a tendency to ebb and flow and is looking for consistency.

"We hover around mediocrity sometimes and then we play really, really well," Wright said in a phone interview as his team prepares for the final three games of the season. "We're fighting for a playoff berth and trying to get ourselves in the best position for the playoffs."

Next up for the Red Raiders is a 4 p.m. Northwest Conference game against Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
