The Mount Baker girls' soccer team rallied from three goals down to defeat visiting Sedro-Woolley 4-3 in Northwest Conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
"It was awesome," Mount Baker coach Brenda Ellis said in a phone interview.
The win improved the Mountaineers to 4-6-2, 2-5-1 NWC while the Cubs dropped to 2-9-1, 0-7-1 NWC.
Sedro-Woolley scored the game's first three goals for a 3-0 lead by the 27th minute before Mount Baker responded. The Mountaineers first scored in the 33rd minute on a goal by Brittany Fedenuik, then scored again the 37th minute on a goal by Sarah Finger. Mount Baker tied the game at 3-3 when Jessa Baisden scored in the 40th minute and Baisden gave the Mountaineers the lead when she scored again in the 42nd minute.
"Down 3-0 is tough," Ellis said. "They just kept fighting."
