The Bellingham boys' tennis team traveled to Lynden and won 6-1 in Northwest Conference action on Monday, Oct. 8.
The win improved the Red Raiders to 12-3, 11-2 NWC while the Lions dropped to 6-7, 6-7 NWC.
Bellingham got a spark at No. 1 doubles when Auden Schilder and E.J. Troutman rallied in the second set to defeat Lynden's Luke Reardon and Toby Dalla Santa 6-4, 6-7 (2). Schilder and Troutman were down 5-2 in the second set before forcing a tiebreaker and winning it 7-2.
"I thought No. 1 doubles Schilder and Troutman really played a tough second set," Lynden coach Trey Ballard said in a phone interview. "My guys played as good as they could play to get up 5-2. It was really good doubles to watch."
The Red Raiders also won at No. 3 doubles with Sam Ferguson and Emile Diffley. Bellingham swept the singles matches with wins from Shane Miller, Charlie Carmichael, Brad Dale and Connor Thompson.
Lynden's win came at No. 2 doubles with Jay Roper and Mikal Olson.
