As a retired Superior Court judge, I am supporting Dave Grant, who is running for the Whatcom County Superior Court.

During my years as a judge, Dave Grant appeared in front of me literally hundreds of times, on such matters as trials, pleas, search warrants, motions and on the criminal calendar. I have always been impressed with him because he was always prepared.

After his years on the criminal side of prosecuting, he was assigned to the civil practice side and he was the attorney assigned to represent the Whatcom County Council. The members of the council that I have spoken to also stated that they were impressed with the fact that he was always prepared.

When I retired in 2004, Judge Ira Uhrig took my place and that caused an opening in the Whatcom County District Court. After looking at several candidates, the Council appointed Dave Grant as the Whatcom County District Court Judge and he has served in that capacity for the past seven years. His experience handling criminal and civil matters in the District Court makes him uniquely qualified and ready to serve on the Superior Court.

Dave McEachran, Jon Komoroski, Bill Elfo and the local police chiefs are supporting Dave Grant and so am I. I urge you to vote for him this November.
