WWU women's soccer blanks Simon Fraser

Goalkeeper Jamie Arthurs tied a school and conference record with her 31st career shutout as Western Washington University defeated Simon Fraser University 2-0 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer game Thursday, Oct. 4, in Burnaby, B.C.

Freshman forward Catherine Miles had a goal and an assist for the Vikings, who improved to 9-2-0 overall and stayed tied atop the GNAC at 6-1-0 with Montana State Billings, which defeated Northwest Nazarene, 2-1. WWU has won nine of its last 10 games, eight of them shutouts.

It was the fourth straight win for WWU, which has won nine of its last 10 games. The Vikings have outscored the opposition, 29-4, this season.
