Sehome girls' soccer stays unbeaten with win over Blaine

The Sehome girls' soccer team stayed unbeaten with a 3-1 Northwest Conference victory over Blaine on Thursday, Oct. 4, at Northwest fields.

At the 38-minute mark, Sehome's Alli Umbaugh scored an unassisted goal. Blaine countered a minute later with a goal by Nicole Statham on an assist by Liz Berry. Hanna Tarleton scored for the Mariners in the 47th minute on an assist by Emily Webster and Kate Peterson padded Sehome's lead in the 53rd minute with a goal on an assist by Alia Jones.

Rachel Albert had two saves for the Mariners, who improved to 11-0-1 overall and 8-0-0 in conference. Blaine's Anna Hewitt had six saves as the Borderites fell to 2-6-3 overall and 1-4-3 in the NWC.

Blaine hosts Squalicum at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, and Sehome plays Lynden at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Bender Fields.
