BELLINGHAM - Katie's Cupcakes of Fairhaven has been chosen to compete in The Food Network's television show "Cupcake Wars."
Owner Katie Swanson and her baking assistant, Kelsey Schaeffer, will compete alongside three other bakeries from around the country for the premiere of the seventh season of the show, scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, on The Food Network.
For people who want to taste the specialty cupcakes Katie's Cupcakes made for the show, a private viewing party at Mount Baker Theatre will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. Guests at the all-ages event can taste all four original flavor creations along with the TV show's judges while washing them down with Boundary Bay Beer, wine, and other refreshments.
