The Sehome girls' swim team defeated Ferndale 135-35 in a Northwest Conference meet Tuesday, Oct. 2, hosted by Ferndale in Lynden.
Sehome was led by Shirley Lam, who won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1 minute, 6.62 seconds. Lam was also part of the 200 medley relay team with Gwendolyn Roley, Hannah Holmgren and Molly McGuire, that won in a time of 2:06.87.
"We had a great meet," Sehome coach Don Helling said in a phone interview. "Lots of good times and our depth was strong. We are doing well and I am really pleased with how the girls are coming along."
Sehome will next compete in the Mukilteo Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 6.
"That is a big one for us," Helling said. "Then we play against Squalicum in a meet that will determine who the conference champions are. We have both been doing really well this season."
Sehome improved to 6-0, 5-0 NWC.
