Whatcom County will be a part of a national tour about solar energy on Saturday, Oct. 6.

The tour, put on by the American Solar Energy Society, will start at 9 a.m. at Itek Energy, 3886 Hammer Drive, in Bellingham. A tour will be given of the Itek facility, where people can meet installers, manufacturers and solar energy system owners.

Afterward, a tour will be given to a variety of sites in Whatcom County that have solar energy systems in place. Details: solarwa.org/2012tour/sites/bellingham.
